    38th National Peace Officers' Memorial Service

    This morning President Donald J Trump was the keynote speaker at the 38th National Peace Officers' Memorial Service. President Trump said he stands with law enforcement during the Annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Service on Capitol Hill, an event to honor law enforcement officers who have died on the line of duty. "Today we renew our solemn oath that we will never forget," Mr. Trump said before sharing a handful of stories of law enforcement officers.

    The 6th Annual EPMPOA Fallen Officers Memorial Run will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2019, starting at 8:00 AM.  This year's race will start and end at Marco's Pizza, 7460 Cimarron Market, on the far westside of El Paso.     Proceeds from the event go to benefit the refurbishing of the Fallen Officers Police Memorial at Charles "Chuck" Heinrich Park.
    El Paso cyclists lace up in support of fallen officers

    Nearly three dozen local cyclists laced up Saturday morning in support of our community's fallen law enforcement officers. EP Fitness hosted the inaugural "Thin Blue Line Ride" indoor cycling event at its Lee Trevino location. The charity ride raised money and awareness for the Chuck Heinrich Memorial Park and the officers it honors.

    FBI Releases LEOKA Statistics For 2018

    The FBI has released the latest statistics on fallen officers who were killed in the line of duty in 2018.  According to the report, 106 officers were killed last year.  Of the 106 deaths, 55 were felonious acts and 51 were accidents.

    FBI Reports Overall Crime Declined In First Half Of 2018

    The FBI released their Preliminary Semiannual Crime Statistics for 2018 on Monday, reporting an overall crime decline during the first half of last year. The report shows a decline in both violent crime and property crime in 2018 when compared to stats from the first half of 2017. Nearly all offenses in the violent category declined. Robbery decreased by 12.

Dozens of kids showed up to hear officers read and they were joined by McGruff the crime dog. The purpose of the event was to help build relationships with children, so if they ever need help, they'll feel comfortable enough approaching an officer.
